What to expect

Ready to ride?

The 411 on classes, waitlists, cancellations and getting ready for your first ride.

What to expect

Your first ride, minute by minute.

  1. Mon 11:00Booking opens

    Next week’s bikes go live.

Every Monday at 11:00 AM riders can book their bike for the upcoming week, up until 30 minutes before class. Classes fill up fast. You need a JUST Cycle account with a class package on file.

Book from the JUST Cycle appFree for iPhone
  2. BeforeWaiver

Sign the waiver with your account.

All first-time riders fill out a waiver when creating their account. Riders 16 and under need a parent or guardian to sign on their behalf, in person. Each rider needs their own account — you can’t book friends under yours.

  3. −8 hCancel window

Plans change. Cancel 8 hours out.

Cancel at least 8 hours before class to get your credit back. Inside 8 hours is a late cancel: class-pack riders lose one class; unlimited members pay $15, or $22.50 for a no-show.

  4. −30 minFuel

Small snack. A lot of water.

A small, light snack up to a half-hour beforehand so you don’t feel light-headed. Drink water before, during and after. Bring a bottle to refill at the water station, or buy one at check-in.

  5. −15 minArrive

    Tour, shoes, bike fit.

Arrive at least 15 minutes early. Staff show you around, fit you for shoes — provided free; the bikes take SPD and Delta clips — set up your bike and show you how to clip in and out. Keypad lockers, showers and change stalls are on site.

  6. −10 minDoors

New riders: 10 minutes or no ride.

New riders who arrive less than 10 minutes before class can’t take part. Under 5 minutes, entry isn’t guaranteed for anyone — priority goes to riders already waiting.

  7. 0:00Ride

Lights down. Your dial, your pace.

Every class has modifications for every level. In a dark room you control your dial and how far you push. Stay seated the whole class if you need to. Lucky number three: by the third or fourth ride, the saddle stops feeling uncomfortable.

  8. Waitlists, cancellations & more

Waitlists

Class full? Hop on the waitlist.

You need an available credit or a payment method on file to join a waitlist.

  1. 01

    8+ hours before

You may be added as soon as a bike opens. You’ll get an email; no confirmation needed. The 8-hour cancellation policy applies from then on.

  2. 02

    Inside 8 hours

You can still be added if a bike opens, and the late-cancel charge applies once you’re in. While you’re still on the waitlist you can leave at any time.

  3. 03

    30 minutes before

You’ll still be notified if a bike opens, and we may call. If we can’t reach you or you can’t make it, no charge. Confirm and don’t show, and it’s a no-show.

Studio etiquette.

The studio etiquette wall
  1. Screens bye bye

This is you time, so the studio is a screen-free place to detach and focus on you. If you are awaiting an important phone call, please leave it at the front desk and we will get you if there is an emergency. Apple Watches always add a bit of fun, but make sure they are in theatre mode so they aren’t distracting for other riders.

  2. Chat time

Talking during class is a major distraction for the surrounding riders and takes away from the experience. Leave the talking to the instructor!

  3. Be on time

Once class starts, the doors are closed. Please ensure you arrive on time to get the most out of your ride and leave feeling your best self.

  4. Nice vibes only

Treat all riders and staff the way you’d like to be treated.

  5. Stay fresh

We ride close together and as a community. That being said, we don’t want to smell how close we are together, so please be mindful of your personal odour.

  6. Waiver

All first-time riders fill out a waiver when creating their account. Riders 16 and under need a parent or guardian to sign in person.

First-ride questions

Do I need to bring my own spin shoes?

We provide shoes for riders at no extra cost, but if you have your own to bring you can! Our bikes accommodate both SPD and Delta clips.

I don’t know how to set up my bike, will someone help me?

Yes — one of our staff will give you a tour around the studio, fit you for your shoes, and then get you fully set up on your bike. They will also show you how to clip your shoes in and out to ensure you feel comfortable during the class!

Do you have locker rooms?

We have lockers with keypads for you to set that are easy and ready to use. Our bathrooms have showers and stalls with space to change before and after class.

What if I can’t do everything that the instructor does?

That’s fine, don’t stress! At JUST we ensure that our classes provide an option for everyone, with modifications to movements for different experience levels. In a dark room, you’re in control of your dial and how far you choose to push yourself — and it may look different everyday! If you need to stay seated for the full class then that’s what you do.

Does the seat ever get more comfortable?

100%. We always say lucky number 3 — after the third or fourth ride your body will get used to the saddle and it won’t feel uncomfortable anymore. If it is still uncomfortable then you can bring your own cushioned gel seat cover, just make sure to bring it home!
