Our story

A family story,
served by the plate.

A Latvian family, generations of recipes, and a route through Central Europe that eventually leads to a dining room in Hammonds Plains.

The Dain family describes a lineage in which every generation had someone especially drawn to cooking. What survived was not a fixed national menu, but a habit of learning from each place and carrying the best parts forward.

Across Europe

Many homes, one table.

Family history crossed Poland, Czechia, Germany, Ukraine, Russia and Latvia. That geography explains why the menu can move from Austrian-style schnitzel to German pork hock without feeling like a novelty tour.

The recipe book stays open.

The kitchen stays close to family tradition while presenting the dishes in a contemporary restaurant setting: generous portions, house-made sauces, classic sides and desserts made in-house.

From the family table
